You can piece entire sections together, swapping out core components like cockpits, engines, and more, and it seems that there's no need to individually craft those parts. This presentation also gave us our first real look at ship customization too, which we know is modular. Unsurprisingly, this can't be mixed with the 'Introvert' trait, which does the opposite. Meanwhile, Traits can shape your personality, so if you choose the 'Extrovert' trait for example, you'll have more endurance when travelling with companions, and less when alone. For example, picking 'Dueling' awards 10% extra melee damage, while 'Gastronomy' lets you create unique food and drinks, alongside researching further recipes. Changeable skin tone, head shapes, hair, hair color, eyes, and body details, Bethesda's giving us the usual options here, alongside 'Background' and 'Traits'.īackgrounds offer three starting skills each. Starting with customization, we're playing a fully customizable protagonist. I don't know what you all think about that.During 2022's Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, we got our first in-depth look at Starfield's gameplay. I wish New Atlantis was bigger than it's actual playable space. It feels like in Starfield you can see and touch everything, and it feels like everything that has been colonized should be bigger. You had small districts that were relatively easy to model, but by having to load other places you just felt like Bowerstone was big, like there were a lot of unseen space between locations. That was always something that I felt Fable did best. And you do have places like Byzantium where you're only playing in a limited space, but you can see that it's bigger than that. I feel like having small cities in Outer Worlds was more or less ok, first obviously because it's a small game, but also because, lore-wise, colonies haven't been built all that long ago. I get that not every game can have huge cities, but when looking at Novigrad, arguably one of the biggest cities in 3D RPGs, it felt grand, and since you're not playing on the entirety of the region, you feel like there might be other cities like that out of our reach and the world becomes big and coherent. Like, I see the small gif from Neon City, and if all we have is one street, one docking room and a control room, the equivalent of the Groundbreaker in Outer Worlds, with no additional places outside our reach, it'll feel really small to me. However, in Starfield, since you're supposed to be able to go everywhere, knowing that New Atlantis is supposed to be the biggest city in the universe, and seeing how small it actually is, means you'll never feel the way you feel when seeing the Citadel. ![]() In Elder Scrolls, it's already a little less ideal (Whiterun is small, honestly) but again, you're playing on just one part of a massive land, so you know there is a lot more. In Skyrim and Fallout games, I'm never surprised when cities are small, in Fallout because most people have died anyway, and you're only playing in a limited countryside, so you know that there are a lot more people outside the perimeter of the game. ![]() In Mass Effect, when you're at the Citadel, you can only just go in a couple of small floors, but you can see how big the place looks and it feels real even if you can't go everywhere. However, a more legitimate concern I have is how small the cities look. This whole "1000 planets"-controversy is dumb, of course space is going to be full of negative space, that's half the charm of what makes space interesting. ![]()

We got back together briefly in the early ’80s. “We did two albums a year and two tours a year for six and a half years and it just got to be too much, so we disbanded. “We kind of got burned out,” Brewer said. The group disbanded in 1976 before reuniting in the 1980s. Most guys can relate to, ‘I must have picked a bad time to be in love.’ Mark Farner’s lyric for that song was right on. “It really doesn’t sound much like Grand Funk, to be honest with you, but it’s a love song. It also featured the hit song “Bad Time,” which reached No. … One day our manager said, ‘You should cut that song!'” “That’s a song that we’d do in the back of the limousine as we went from the hotel to the venue as our warm-up. “In Flint, Michigan, we had a local R&B radio station, WAMM, that played the Soul Brothers Six version of ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ all the time,” Brewer said. Their next album, “All the Girls in the World Beware!!!” (1974), featured arguably their most iconic song “Some Kind of Wonderful,” which reached No. We were going after the same feeling The Beach Boys had with ‘Barbara Ann.’ It sounded like a party in the studio.” We had Todd Rundgren in the studio with us, he did his magic with all of his sounds on the board and, boy, it was just great. “Grand Funk Railroad doing ‘The Loco-Motion’ was a silly idea, so we tried it. Their next album “Shinin’ On” (1974) featured a catchy cover of “The Loco-Motion,” written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin for Little Eva in 1962. You had to change all of your seven-minute songs … to be three or four-minutes, so I came up with this idea: ‘We’re coming to your town, we’ll help you party it down.’ That was the first lyric.” “We needed to make a transition from FM underground radio to the new FM hit radio format in 1972. “It really just sounds like a hit record, doesn’t it?” Brewer said. The title track of their next album, “We’re An American Band” (1973), was their first No. They were signed by Capitol Records for the album “On Time” (1969), followed by a string of platinum sellers, “Grand Funk” (1969), “Closer to Home” (1970), “Survival” (1971) and “E Pluribus Funk” (1971), as well as a sixth album, “Phoenix” (1972), that went gold. As music changed in the late ’60s from being a pop AM format, it became heavy rock with Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Blue Cheer, those three-piece power trios were happening, so we decided to make that change as well. “We experimented with some different things. “We had been several bands before Grand Funk,” Brewer said. We’ve been touring with this band for 22 years.”įormed in Flint, Michigan in 1969, Grand Funk Railroad was formed as a trio of Brewer (drums, vocals), Schacher (bass) and Mark Farner (guitar, keys, harmonica, vocals). 38 Special is playing guitar and singing lead, Bruce Kulick from Kiss is playing guitar, Tim Cashion from Bob Seger’s band is playing keyboards and singing backup. “We’re joined by some great people: Max Carl from. “Me and Mel Schacher are the original founding members of Grand Funk,” Brewer said. Here we go!”īrewer and bass player Mel Schacher are the two remaining original members. We were very fortunate to kick off this new ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ tour, which was postponed in 2019. “It was a long year and a half sitting at home waiting and wondering whether we’d be able to get back to some kind of normal touring again. “We got going again around the beginning of July,” Founding Drummer Don Brewer told WTOP. The classic rock band rolls into Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races on Friday. Grand Funk Railroad is still chugging, coming to your town to help you party it down. There are also certain Ashes of War in Elden Ring that actually drain health instead of FP. Ashes of War skills can be used as many times as you want, as long as you have enough FP. If it’s low, or empty, use a blue FP flask to replenish it and continue using the skills in battle. Using Ashes of War costs FP, so keep an eye on the blue bar on the top left-hand corner of the HUD. So, make sure you’re reading every Ash of War’s description to get the most out of their skills. This is particularly useful in boss fights. If a description says that you can use a more effective follow-up attack, use a heavy attack right after using the skill to cause more damage. For example, thrust skills can only be used with spears and certain sword types. Some Ashes of War can only be applied to certain weapon types. This unlocks the ability to apply skills to your weapons, and change their affinities. In order to use Ashes of War in Elden Ring, however, you must have a Whetstone Knife. You may have picked up many Ashes of War while exploring the vast fantasy landscapes of The Lands Between. To start using Ashes of War on your weapons, you must first locate a Whetstone Knife. Although they can’t be upgraded, they can be duplicated, allowing for multiple weapons to have the same skill attached to them. The only way to raise their damage, or effectiveness, is to raise your own stats by leveling up. Unlike Spirit Ashes, Ashes of War are not upgradable. You must equip that weapon in order to use that particular skill. However, there are certain unique weapons that have their own custom skill attached that cannot be changed, or applied to other weapons. Affinities can also be swapped without consequence, which encourages experimentation, as it does not punish you for not sticking with a particular skill or affinity. ![]() ![]() ![]() As it stands I have to manage "2 mods" (Forge/Fabric) and that's enough work in and of itself.
